Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Emmetsburg. | | Visitation: The family will greet friends from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at the Joyce Funeral Home where there will be a 4:00 p.m. C. D. A. Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. vigil service. | | Mary Catherine Lorig was born August 29, 1936, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Mildred (Ferguson) Lorig. She attended graduated from Emmetsburg Catholic High School in 1954. On August 2, 1958, Mary was united in marriage to Lloyd Kliegl at Assumption Catholic Church in Emmetsburg.
Together, Mary and Lloyd owned and operated the Longhorn Saloon for 22 years. She worked in bookkeeping for several local banks, and most recently, she worked in food service for Emmetsburg Community Schools. Mary was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Catholic Daughter’s of the Americas, and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to play cards, especially bridge. She enjoyed visiting friends and serving students their lunch. More than anything, Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Mollie.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Kathy Wright (Steve) of Spencer and Julie Clarkson of Cedar Falls, IA; son, Bob Kliegl (Rhonda) of Emmetsburg; two sisters: Helen O’Brien of Des Moines and Lois Neary (Hugh) of Emmetsburg; and eight grandchildren.

I never met her, but it's just a small world that she lived in the same part of town that Heath grew up in. Your family is in our prayers.
