Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Ayrshire.
Visitation: The family will greet friends from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at the Joyce Funeral Home where there will be a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.
Vincent Anthony Brennan was born October 27, 1913 in Ruthven, Iowa, the son of James P. and Mary (Fleming) Brennan. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School in Ayrshire. On February 11, 1943, he was united in marriage to Marguerite Kibbie at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ayrshire. After the birth of their only child, Ann Terese, Marguerite passed away on December 31, 1943. Vince and Ann Terese moved to Emmetsburg where he raised her with the help of his parents. On January 19, 1962, Vince was united in marriage to Colleen Barry at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Algona, Iowa. As a young man, he had various jobs, including driving a Dr. Pepper truck. One of his favorite deliveries was to the Grotto where he enjoyed his visits with Father Dobberstein. He then went to work for Sears and Roebuck where he devoted 30 years of service as manager of the plumbing and heating department. Vince was a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish. He was an avid E-hawk and Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed dancing, having coffee with friends, and most of all, he loved to spend time with his family. On April 30, Vince passed away at the Blue Earth Hospital in Blue Earth, MN. He was 93. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Ann Terese Kehr (Joe) of Blue Earth, MN; sister, Loretta Donovan of Estherville; three grandchildren: John Kehr (Kelly) of Mora, MN, JoAnn Hannaman (Michael) of Blue Earth, MN and Julie Elsbecker (Andy) of Spencer, IA; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marguerite and wife, Colleen; two sisters: Marian Moses and Bernadette Kliegl; brothers: Jay, Adrian, Joe and Mike Brennan.
