Service: A Mass of Christian Burial for Marjorie Nitchals, 85, of Estherville and formerly of Wallingford will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger. Burial is in St. John’s Cemetery, Emmetsburg.
Visitation: The family will greet friends from 4 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the church in Graettinger.
Marjorie Josephine Boblit was born February 6, 1924, the daughter of Leland and Josie (Coakley) Boblit near Depew. She attended country school and St. Mary’s Academy in Emmetsburg. She was a 1943 graduate of Cylinder High School. She attended nursing school at St. Joseph’s Mercy College in Sioux City, transferred to Mason City, and she received her degree in nursing in 1946. On February 2, 1948, Marjorie was united in marriage to Harold Nitchals at Assumption Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. Marjorie helped Harold farm in Emmet and Palo Alto Counties, and they settled on a farm south of High Lake in 1956. Marjorie worked as an OB Nurse at Holy Family Hospital for five years after she was first married, and she finished her career as an OB Nurse at Palo Alto County Hospital retiring in 1986. She loved babies and her work. Marjorie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, gardening and canning. Marjorie loved her family, and she was always there when they needed her. She was the family historian, always keeping track of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Donald of Wallingford, David (Lisa) of Estherville, John (June) of Wallingford, Rose Mary Nitchals of Estherville, Lou (Debra) of Estherville, Stanley (Lynette) of Wallingford, Margie Ann Wohlers (James) of Jackson, MN, Nancy Iverson (Lynn) of Estherville, Daniel (Marlene) of Mason City and Emma Pauling (Mark) of Estherville; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Darlene Stewart (Duane), Bernice Mansager and Beverly Satern. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harold; brother, Gene Boblit; sisters-in-law: Rosie and Arlene Boblit; and brothers-in-law: Jim Satern and Bob Mansager.

I just want to thank all that sign into this site. Cody, Andy, Kim and Teresa did a beautiful job with Mom and in 2005 our Dad. I want to thank you all for your Prayers, thoughtful deeds, and Wonderful stories you shared. The Family of Marjorie Nitchals can't express our many thanks in words alone. Emma & Mark & Family You all have my deepest sympathy. Mothers are very precious to us and its so sad when they are taken from us. She is now with Harold looking down at you all and being thankful that you all are going to be ok. She will be missed by all who loved her.Her kids, grandkids, and great, great great grandkids may you all have wonderful memories, stories, pictures to cherish. Emma, You are a very special person and i want to tell ya that you are in my prayers. She loved each & everyone of you. Its hard to loose someone you loved so much for all these years but God knew it was time for her to go.
